Photos from Huckletree, a breakfast with June and what comes after mapping

MyPholyo at Huckletree

Thank you to everyone who came to An Evening with June Angelides MBE and Tobi Asare on Monday. The room was full, and the conversation on money, visibility and capacity flowed easily. It was a pleasure to see all of our guests connecting, and stories resonating across many different experiences.

The photos are now up. You can view and download the gallery here and download using the PIN 4930. If you spot yourself, please share the picture and tag us.

Everyone who attended should have received their personalised Pholyo card by email. Sharing it helps us grow this community, and every Map that comes from your card is credited to you.

We're building a run of smaller events hosted by people in this community, in their own cities. If you'd like to host one, or you know a space that would suit, reply and tell us.

Join June at Before 9 at Riviera London

June Angelides MBE is speaking at the Before 9 Business Breakfast, presented by Entrepreneur Magazine, on 7 October, and we have three places for the MyPholyo community to join her.

To be in with a chance, map your Pholyo and tag three portfolio professionals you know in a comment on our Instagram or LinkedIn. Mapping takes five minutes and shows you what you could be leaving on the table.

We'll pick the three places on Monday and let you know by email.

Verify your Pholyo roles

Some of you have asked what happens after you map. Verification is the next step. It turns the roles you've listed into proof a hirer can act on.

Here's how it works. For each engagement in your Pholyo, you nominate the person who paid for it (a client, a founder, a board chair) and they confirm the role with a couple of clicks. Once confirmed, the engagement moves from self-reported to verified, and your record starts to carry the kind of proof a hirer can trust.

You'll find it near the top of your dashboard when it opens. If you haven't mapped yet, this is a good week to do it, so your roles are ready.

One more thing

As part of our partnership with Huckletree, MyPholyo has access to a 5% discount on membership and 20% off eventspace at any of their hubs.

If you’d like to experience Huckletree for yourself, you can arrange a tour or complimentary day pass by emailing Sarah at sarah@huckletree.com and mentioning MyPholyo. And if you’re looking for a new workspace, whether for yourself or your team, Sarah can talk you through the different membership options and apply your community discount.

Catch you next week,

The MyPholyo team

A Pholyo dashboard on a laptop, showing roles, earnings and opportunities in one place

Sneak peek: the new Mapper If you've got more than one income stream, this one's for you. Fractional executives. Advisers. Board members. Consultants. Founders running a practice on the side. If your career stopped being one job a while back, this is for you. When you earn from more than one place, your work ends up scattered: a CV here, LinkedIn there, a folder of invoices you haven't opened in months. None of it adds up to a number you can actually use, and none of it is really in your...

A letter from June I chose time over money. Did I get it wrong? This was the question I had to answer recently, and it made me realise that although I had studied economics, I hadn't been applying many of the principles I learnt at UCL to my own career. Let me take you back to the beginning. Like many people, I didn't start off with a grand plan. I just knew I couldn't afford to get it wrong. When you come from a family of very ambitious people who have built businesses and kept them going...
